Welcome to Traditional Lingerie. We are a well established business first opened in 1959, which is owned and run by Maureen Lawton and family, and expanded on to the Internet in 1999.
Here at Traditional Lingerie we exclusively deal in the manufacture and retail of lingerie and nightwear and retail of hosiery. All our family specialises in not only finding the latest fabrics and the most up to date designs for the manufacture of the lingerie and nightwear, but also, with over thirty branded names to chose from and more being added all the time, we search for only the most practical and attractive garments to be added to our range.
Due to efficient running of the business and low overheads we can afford to pass these savings on to you, the customer, byreducing most items in the shop by 15%.
We realise at Traditional Lingerie that most people are not the perfect model size. From our experience with customers in our fitting rooms and discussions with the manufactures we have compiled an extensive range of lingerie to suit all ages and sizes. Bras, which we have found to be particularly good fitting, are marked as recommended fit in the on-line catalogue. A few examples of this are the 480 Lily from Ballet, the D¾ sir from Barbara, the Cornelia/Clover ranges from Fantasie, for a strapless bra, the 264 from Charnos is highly recommended and of course Doreen from Triumph International for the more mature lady. Note the Clover range covers most sizes ranging from "B" cup all the way up to "J" cup.
I personally have been manufacturing lingerie and nightwear for forty years and have been a qualified lingerie/foundationwear fitter for over thirty years, holding numerous certificates and awards, including an consultants advanced fitting certificate from Fantasie, a foundationwear certificate from Silhouette and a bra fitting certificate from Charnos. Other members of the family also hold qualifications in clothing manufacture, including a U.L.C.I. and city and guilds in pattern cutting, a HND in clothing and a Degree in clothing product development, which was recently achieved by the latest generation of the family to join the business, enabling the business to draw on a larger wealth of experience and knowledge of the trade.
